Abstract
Electron-spin-resonance studies of pristine, Li-charged and Li-discharged carbon electrodes have been carried out. Different behaviors were observed for those samples. The ESR line width of Li-charged carbon electrode becomes narrow and spin concentration increases in comparison with pristine carbon electrode. The spin concentration of Li-discharged carbon electrode is still higher than that of pristine carbon electrode and a new ESR absorption with narrow line width appears. A possible explanation will be given based on the electrochemical data, SIMS and FTIR analysis results.
