Abstract :
De Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) effect in the two dimensional organic conductor (BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4 has been measured up to 30 T in order to investigate the phase transition at BK (∼24 T). The dHvA oscillation undergoes a drastic change around BK. The effective mass shifts from 1.5m0 in the density wave phase (B<BK) to 1.65m0 in the normal metallic phase (B>BK). Based on the simulation, we conclude that the primary cause of the characteristic field dependence of the wave shape is the change in the effective mass.
