Abstract :
An EPR study of the solid solutions (per)2[Au(1−x)Ptx(mnt)2] (0≤x≤1) is presented. For pure Au (x=0) compound, the temperature dependences of signal intensity, g-factor and linewidth are typical of a Peierls transition at 12 K. The anisotropy is analysed in the neighbourhood of the metal-insulator transition (8 K), for Pt (x=1). The effect of alloying is discussed in the composition ranges 0<x≤0.4 and x≥0.98, where the crystals obtained have electrical transport properties characteristic of the α-phase of (per)2[M(mnt)2].
