Electrochemical synthesis of free-standing poly(3-bromothiophene) films

Free-standing films of poly(3-bromothiophene) can easily be prepared by electrochemical polymerization in the presence of boron trifluoride—diethyl ether as supporting electrolyte and stainless steel as electrode. The polymer has flexible and compact structure, and it shows improved environmental stability.
