Synthesis of hydroxyalkyl-substituted bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene derivatives

Four substituted bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF) derivatives were synthesized, and their MS and NMR spectra are given. The redox properties of the compounds were studied by cyclic voltammetry. The powder conductivities of the charge-transfercomplexes of the hydroxyalkyl-substituted BEDT-TTF with TCNQ were measured by two-probe contacts. The results show that they are semiconductors.
