Abstract :
Organic electroluminescent (EL) devices with a hole transport layer of distyryl compound (DSTPA) were studied. The emission at a low d.c. voltage of 3 V was observed with the EL device using DSTPA having a low ionization potential Ip and high hole mobility. The high luminance at low voltage suggests that the hole injection process is easy owing to the formation of the small energy barrier. The EL device with emitting layer of DSTPA realized highly efficient and strong emission in the blue region.
