Abstract
ZnS/CdS nanocrystals were synthesized in a polymer matrix. The mean particle size of ZnS/CdS nanocrystals was about 2.0 nm determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Electron diffraction results showed that the ZnS and CdS nanocrystals had hexagonal structures. A ZnS/CdS nanocrystals/polymer composite as an emitter was used to fabricate a single-layer structure electroluminescent device with a low turn-on voltage (below 3 V) and blue electroluminescence was observed at room temperature.
