Theory on electroabsorption in poly(p-phenylene vinylene)

Electroabsorption (EA) in poly(p-phenylene vinylene) is theoretically investigated over a wide range of excitation energies using the Pariser-Parr-Pople model within the single-excitation configuration-interaction method. We demonstrate that EA provides detailed information on the nature of higher-lying excited states, such as their dichroic nature.
