Abstract
This paper reports on the realization and study of metallic composites simply formed by a direct charge-transfer reaction between solid bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF) and solid iodine. Under appropriate conditions these composites are shown to behave with metallic behaviour from 300 down to 2.3 K, the low temperature limit of the present experiments. Below 15 K, the resistivity even starts to decrease at a much more pronounced rate, thus suggesting the possible occurrence of a superconducting transition in the composites at lower temperature.
