A new correlation between the polymerisation charge, film thickness and degree of oxidation of poly(3-methylthiophene)

The degree of oxidation of poly(3-methylthiophene) as a function of the potential results is an S-shapedrelation. A maximal degree of oxidation of αf = 0.27 was attained. An efficiency of the electropolymerisation of η = 0.84 was calculated. A correlation between the polymerisation charge, the thickness of the reduced PMT film and the current efficiency of the electropolymerisation was derived.
