Abstract :
The results of spectroelectrochemical ESR studies as well as of in situ conductivity measurements performed on poly[(2,5-dibenzylidene)-1,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene] (polyDBTTP 1) are presented. The polymer comprises polaron/bipolaron systems corresponding to the presence of three redox systems. The relative electrical resistivity strongly depends on the applied potential and correlates well with the spin density. A partially oxidized state 2 bearing one positive charge per monomer unit accounts for the conducting properties of the material.
