Abstract
We study the optical electric field distribution inside heterojunction photovoltaic devices. The generation of excitons and thereby the charge generation is directly dependent of the exciting optical electric field. From calculations of the internal optical electric field distribution we can derive an optimized geometrical structure with respect to the efficiency of this type of devices.
