Abstract :
Reversible gas sensors using an octaaniline and tetraaniline for detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the atmosphere readily detect toluene vapor admixed with air down to 35ppm by measuring resistance changes with a simple, inexpensive ohmmeter. They exhibit excellent sensitivity, reversibility, environmental stability and have little response to water vapor, a common source of interference.
