Abstract :
We report attempts to improve the intrinsic conductivity of electrically conductive polymers by crosslinking them with conjugated linkages, thus providing physical pathways for charge transport. Conductive polymers were crosslinked by palladium catalyzed cross-coupling reactions of the type developed by Suzuki and Stille. Crosslinked polymers included derivatives of poly(thiophene), and poly(α-thiophenediyl)benzylidene. Changes in the physical and electrical properties are reported.
