Benzene modulated tetrathiafulvalenetetrathiolate donors: Synthesis and electrochemical properties

Bis(o-xylylphenyldithio)tetrathiafulvalene, bis(1,8-dimethylnaphthalenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene and bis(2,2′-dimethyl-1, 1ʹbiphenyldithio)tetrathiafulvalene are synthesized from two separate routes. The donors containing 8, 9 and 10 membered heterocyclic rings repectively are compared electrochemically.
