Abstract :
Direct measurements of the Hall potential in α-(BEDT-TTF)2TlHg(SCN)4, a material thought to exhibit the quantum Hall effect, have been made using a variant of the Corbino technique in fields of up to 60 T. This method, in which the Hall voltage is proportional to the ratio of the resistivities ρxy/ρ∥, provides a novel way of investigating quantum oscillations.
