Abstract :
A new room temperature metallic modification of the well known α-(ET)2[KHg(SCN)4] salt has been prepared by electrochemical oxidation of ET. Its crystal and electronic structure as well as the conducting properties have been examined. The salt has a layered structure like the δ-(ET)2[KHg(SCN)4] phase.
