Abstract :
The structure of conductive Langmuir–Blodgett (LB) films based on dialkyldimethylammonium-Au(dmit)2 (2Cn-Au(dmit)2) salt is studied introducing a novel film-forming parameter, “waiting time (Tw)”, which is defined as the time between the application of spreading solvent and the onset of compression. The π-A isotherms indicate that the salt coagulates to form crystallites immediately after the application of the solution at the air/water interface, but it tends to spread with increasing Tw. The highest conductivities of the 2C14-Au(dmit)2 and 2C18-Au(dmit)2 LB films were obtained in case Tw=30 and 90 min, respectively.
