25 years of Ecological Modelling by Ecological Modelling

The statistics given in Volume 100 have been updated and are given in this paper. The trends from 1996 have continued, which implies that the number of papers about terrestrial ecosystems and the theoretical aspects, modelling methods and systems ecology, have increased. A slight increase of the papers focusing on ecotoxicology has also been observed since the seventies. Ten more countries have published in the journal during the last three years, illustrating that interest in modelling is becoming increasingly international.
