  • Abstract
    In this work we modified a theoretical model of acid deposition in the soil–vegetation interaction to be experimentally applicable. We simplified the expression of the mathematical model of dynamical complex systems by setting parameters into more simple groups, giving an easy-of-validate expression. By the theoretical model it was proposed the nonlinear response of vegetation to acid deposition, which can explain the occurrence of serious and unexpected damages to plantations and forests focused on the catastrophic nature of the effects of aluminum mobility on the vegetation. egard to the simplification of the theoretical model, the difficulty of getting the required parameters to apply complex models directly and the little reliability their values would have in experimental implementations gives sense to the attempt of getting empirical utility of models without missing complexity. By this reason, we propose a simplification of a dynamical model with several parameters reformulated as a model of 5 aggregate parameters which can be fitted by real data. gh the model was originally proposed for trees, its general characteristics encouraged us to try extending its usefulness to agricultural crops. Since the effects of acid rain have been widely reported to be physiologically different regarding the organ of the plant, we separately tested the model applied to the development of diverse physiological properties. Additionally, we tested the model keeps complex behavior by results of experiments.
