Zeolitic membranes

In the past year, notable developments in the preparation of zeolitic membranes have taken place. Firstly, supported continuous zeolite phases have been made in decreasing thickness on an extended support surface area. Secondly, various methods for producing a zeolite film have been applied. Thirdly, new supports such as hollow carbon fibres have been investigated. Finally, attempts have been made to explain experimental results using the established theory of nucleation and crystallization of thin layers, and permeation studies have been performed on a zeolite crystal embedded in resin.
