High-strength Al-based nanostructure alloys

New Al-based alloys with high specific strength and high ductility have been developed by use of nonperiodic atomic configurations of amorphous, nanoamorphous and nanoquasicrystalline phases, in which deformation via dislocations is difficult. The usefulness of this concept in the development of new high-strength materials has been investigated.
