Application of synchrotron radiation to in situ characterization of catalysts

X-ray absorption spectroscopy is becoming powerful enough for in situ characterization of catalyst owing to the development of the time-resolved technique, surface sensitive detection, and multiple scattering theory. In addition, in situ powder X-ray diffraction and small/wide angle X-ray scattering have significantly improved during the past year.
