Dislocation modelling at atomistic and mesoscopic scales

Several basic dislocation mechanisms have recently been examined in detail by atomistic simulations. In parallel, mesoscale approaches of dislocation behaviour are being developed for the study of single crystal plasticity. Linking atomistic and mesoscopic simulations is emerging as a new challenge for materials modelling.
