Kinetics of phase transitions in block copolymers

A rich variety of equilibrium phases have been identified in block copolymer melts. In this paper we study the kinetics of phase transitions from one equilibrium state to another, from both experimental and theoretical points of view. The formation of ordered phases is often mediated by non-equilibrium intermediate states. In addition the phase transitions can proceed by either conventional nucleation, or by spinodal decomposition.
