Abstract
A series of Y-based 2126 compounds, La1−xSr1+xYCu2O6 (x=0 to 0.5), has been prepared. Crystal structure and cation distribution are determined by Rietveld analysis of X-ray powder diffraction data. Small Y ions occupy (2a) site preferentially. All the studied samples including HIP treated ones are semiconducting and no superconducting transition is observed down to 20K. VRH model is applicable as a transport mechanism at low temperatures.
