Fluorination of La2 − xSrxCuO4 + δ: Exhibition of superconductivity for x ≤ 0.05

La2−xSrxCuO4+δ with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.4 was fluorinated. Nonsuperconducting samples with x ≤ 0.05were rendered superconducting after fluorination. Tc is little affected for x ≥ 0.1; low-field diamagnetic properties are improved for these compositions.
