Abstract :
A low temperature aqueous solution preparation under strong alkaline medium is reported for the synthesis of bismuth cuprates. Highly crystalline products were obtained at temperatures around 90 °C. Tetragonal Bi2CuO4 appears to be the only stable phase formed in the BiCuO system under these conditions.
