Abstract
The structural, the electrical, and the optical properties of Y1-xYbxBa2Cu3O7-y:F3x superconductors with various Yb mole fractions were investigated. From X-ray diffraction analysis, while the structure of the Y1-xYbxBa2Cu3O7-y:F3x with x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 grown by using the solid- state reaction was orthorhombic. The resistivity as a function of temperature for Y1-xYbxBa2Cu3O7-y:F3x with various of Yb showed that the superconducting transition temperatures were varied between 98 and 102 K. Infrared transmittance measurements showed that the intensity of the absorbance for the Cu(1) - O(4) stretching mode in the frequency range between 421.01 and 674.17 cm-1 increased with increasing Yb mole fraction. These results indicate that the structural, electrical, and optical properties of Y1-xYbxBa2Cu3O7-y:F3x superconductors are significantly dependent on the Yb mole fraction.
