Molecular ferromagnets — a review

Design of molecule-based organic ferromagnets is an area of current interest in synthetic chemistry, particularly owing to their potential in different areas of technology such as low-frequency magnetic shielding, magnetic imaging, magneto-optics and information storage. This article presents a brief review on the progress made in the synthesis of organic ferromagnets in recent years, and provides an introduction to the different categories of molecular magnets reported thus far and the strategies adopted for designing them.
