Enhancement of chemiluminescent responses of phagocytic cells from rainbow trout,Oncorhynchus mykiss, by injection of growth hormone

The immunomodulatory effects of growth hormone (GH) were studied by measurements of the chemiluminescent responses (CL) of rainbow troutOncorhynchus mykisskidney phagocytic cells to opsonized zymosanin vitro. CL of phagocytic cells increased significantly in rainbow trout injected with chum salmon GH. The maximum CL responses were dose-dependent and obtained five days after injection of GH.
