Abstract :
The elevated temperature mechanical behavior and deformation characteristics of Al2O3 fiber-reinforced NiAlFe matrix composites fabricated by powder spray and tape casting techniques were investigated. Tensile tests were conducted at room temperature, 760, 870, and 980 °C. Flexural creep tests were conducted at 700 °C with stresses ranging from 100 to 250 MPa. The role of fiber, matrix, and the interface on the tensile and creep behavior of the composite is also discussed.
