Abstract
Raman spectroscopic studies of silver borotungstate systems show that when the concentrations of tungstate and borate are favourable for the formation of [WO4]2− anions, the material has a higher electrical conductivity and shows better battery performance when it is used as an electrolyte in a solid-state battery. At low WO3 concentrations when tetrahedral tungstate ions are not formed, the electrical conductivity of the material is lower and the battery performance is also less satisfactory. The infrared spectra of these materials are also recorded to supplement these observations.
