Abstract
The anisotropic d-wave superconductor and its junction characteristics arc discussed in relation to application of electronic devices. The recent d-wave Josephson-junction theory and some experimental data for the YBCO junctions are presented and discussed. It is also pointed out that the microstructures at the junction boundary interface play an important role in determining the junction properties for the case of anisotropic d-wave superconductivity. Finally, the possible application of high Tc superconductors to electronic devices is discussed within the framework of anisotropic superconductivity.
