Abstract :
Single crystals of the intermetallic compound Fe3Al with D03 order are deformed in compression between room temperature and 870 K. During deformation the slip line development and configuration are recorded by video through a long-distance light microscope. The fine structure of slip is examined by scanning force microscopy. Five different deformation modes have been identified in various temperature regimes.
