Recrystallisation of dendrites of undercooled germanium

Bulk samples of germanium (150 g) undercooled between 160 and 214°C using the glass slag technique show the same partially recrystallized structure as has been shown previously for silver, copper, copper −20 wt.% silver and nickel undercooled by a similar amount.
