Abstract :
An atom probe field ion microscopy (APFIM) characterization has been performed on the decomposition of several bulk metallic glasses. Evidence of short range order for aluminum has been detected in as-cast nickel-containing Zr60Al15Ni25 and Zr55Al10Cu5Ni30 metallic glasses. Titanium-enriched, zirconium-enriched and Be2Zr phases have been analyzed in annealed Zr41.2Ti13.8Cu12.5Ni10.0Be22.5 bulk metallic glass.
