Abstract
This paper will provide a review of recent research activities of the physical and mechanical properties in Ni3Al with and without boron, particularly concentrated on the chemical features related to deformation behavior. Ductility improvement by boron addition and stoichiometry controlling will be explained from the viewpoint of grain boundary chemistry related to bulk physical properties. There have not been accumulated enough fundamental data and results for ductility or deformability compared with those for strengthening. The conclusion with emphasis in this paper are that there are so many unsolved subjects in both mechanisms for physical and mechanical properties and further additional works are necessary to solve them from both fundamental and application interests.
