Abstract
Intermetallic compounds Ni3Al and γ-TiAl have been crept at various temperatures and stresses. Inverse creep occurred in both alloys under certain conditions. Microstructural observations indicate that instabilities of microstructures are responsible for the inverse creep. The possible mechanisms that cause inverse creep in Ni3Al and γ-TiAl are discussed and compared.
