Abstract :
Sr-substituted (2 mol%) xPMS-(1−x)(PZ–PT) compositions were investigated systematically as a function of PMS concentrations as well as Niobium (Nb) contents. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns show that phases shift from tetragonal phase to rhombohedral phase with the increase of PMS concentrations and with the increase of Nb-doping contents in PMS2. The compositions with x=0.05 (PMS2) was found to have superior piezoelectric properties. The properties of the PMS2 compositions were optimized by the Nb-doping contents of 0.1 mol% (d33=450 pC N−1, Kp=0.65, Qm=1210). The compositions of PMS2 and 0.1 mol% Nb-doped compositions of PMS2 are practically suitable for ultrasonic motor (USM) applications.
