Abstract :
Experimental data from the paste-boriding process during growth of a Fe2B layer have been used to estimate the diffusion coefficient of boron in Fe2B based on a kinetic model obtained from the mass balance and considering thermodynamic equilibrium at the Fe2B/α interface during growth. A diffusivity of boron in Fe2B was obtained:DFe2B=1.311×10−6 exp−151×103 kJRT(m2 s−1) for 1223 K<T<1323 K.
