Abstract
The influence of compression deformation on microstructure of powder Fe–40 at.%Al alloy was investigated. Near micron-sized structure was produced by upsetting at 800 °C at a strain rate of 0.1 s−1 to a strain of 1.4. Room temperature compression tests showed that yield strength and fracture strength increased with decreasing grain size.
