Abstract :
In the case of in-pile meltdown, the reaction between the UO2 fuel and zircaloy cladding will cause the formation of a series of new phases and the diffusion of oxygen from UO2 to zircaloy, which has great influence on the movement of phase interface during the cladding-stream reaction. This paper presents a method to calculate the kinetics of oxidation of the cladding-stream reaction in this condition.
