Abstract :
The thermal expansion characteristics were measured for Mg–10 and 30 vol.% Saffil fibre composites in the temperature range from 20 to 370 °C. From the measured relative elongation and the elongation calculated from the rule of mixtures, the temperature dependences of the thermal strain were estimated. The results were analysed using an elastic–plastic model.
