Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the effects of wall thickness on the light scattering characters of long gold nanotubes. The light scattering is shown to be strongly influenced by the changing of the gold wall thickness which leads the changes of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) properties. Theoretical calculations indicated one light scattering peak occurs in visible region. Furthermore, with increasing the gold wall thickness, this scattering peak blue shifts and increases nonlinearly. For gold nanotubes, the effective mean free path equal to the length of wall chord, which plays an important role to influence the scattering bandwidth.
