Abstract :
Based on the channelling theory for isolated atomic columns, a method is proposed for eliminating the aberration residue in a holographically reconstructed exit-wave from a focal series of high resolution electron microscopic images. The criterion which exploits the entropy of the exit wave has been successfully tested on both simulated and experimental images of TiO2 (rutile) and LuNiBC.
