Abstract :
The texture effect of warm peening on the TiB2/6351Al composite has been investigated. The results show that the preexisting texture of the composite was randomized by warm peening. With increasing the initial peening temperature, the texture intensity decreases and the depth of the maximum intensity location on sublayer increases. The reasons of warm peening randomizing the texture of the composite are the easier activation of slip dislocations and their movements at elevated temperature, and other factors also play important roles, such as the random deformation directions, the large size of reinforcements and their relatively high concentration, the refined domain size and high density dislocations in the grain or subgrain boundaries.
