Abstract :
Cu/Mo duplex coating was introduced as interfacial modification layer to investigate its effect on the interfacial microstructure and the mechanical properties of SiCf/Ti6Al4V composite. The results show that the copper coating has completely diffused into the matrix and made the matrix form brittle substances like Widmanstaten structure which contains Ti2Cu and α-Ti. The Mo coating has become Mo–Ti mixed coating. However, the longitudinally tensile strength of the composite is excellent as the Cu/Mo duplex coating can hinder the fiber/matrix interfacial reaction.
