Abstract :
The transport mechanism of vortices in a new class of photofluxonic detectors based on Josephson Junction (JJ) arrays is examined in detail. Spatial resolution is easily achievable only if the vortex/antivortex moves at constant velocity. Our simulations show that this is the case of JJ ladders. In 2D JJ arrays the situation is less simples: x−y resolution seems possible only in a small range of the bias current values, beyond an upper critical value the detector becomes unstable.
