Abstract :
We report on formation of ultrafine-grained Ti65.5Nb22.3Zr4.6Ta1.6Fe6 composites with yield strength of 2425 MPa and fracture strength of 2650 MPa and distinct plasticity. Meanwhile, they exhibit low ultrasonic Youngʹs modulus of 52 GPa. This provides a promising method for fabricating large-sized biomedical composites with excellent mechanical properties by powder metallurgy.
